Phosphate coatings used on steel parts for corrosion resistance, lubricity, or as a foundation for subsequent coatings or painting. when a phosphate coated dry wall screw is passed through an electromagnetic tube repeatedly it becomes a good magnet and also maintains its magnetic property for a long time. On the other hand a regular steel screw becomes a weak magnet as compared to drywall screws and also maintains its magnetic property for a lesser time duration.
