1.A car is moving with 40m/sec to catch a bike. The speeed of bike is 20m/sec in the same direction.If the distance between car and bike is 100 meters then how much time car will take to catch the bike ?

This is the case of relative velocity, where v2=velocity of car and v1=velocity of the bike.
Let the time taken by the car to catch bike= "T"

Now, 
Distance to cover= 100m
Relative velocity= v2-v1
                          = 40-20
                          =20m/s
Hence, as we know that distance=speed*time
So, 100=20*T
       100/20=T
        T=5sec.

So, the time taken by the car to catch the bike is 5 seconds.
