As we know heat transfer from hot to cold region but how does it flow in a continuous or discrete manner ?

Heat flows in an object due to conduction. When a hotter and colder object comes in contact with each other , heat starts to flow from hotter body to colder. This is because hotter body have faster moving molecules with collides with the slower moving molecules of colder body and transfer the energy from one body to another. Heat flow is discrete.
